Map of battle sites in Britain and Ireland. Map showing the location of major battles and lesser-known engagements that took place in Great Britain from Roman times up to the Battle of Culloden in 1746 and on the island of Ireland up to the Irish revolt of 1798. The map includes a key, naming the victors and the defeated in each battle and is colour-coded according to the wars or eras with which the battles are associated. The map features over 350 battles including battles of the English Civil War, Wars of the Roses, Anglo-Scottish wars and Viking era battles. The lists of the battles are grouped to cover England and Wales, Scotland and the island of Ireland. Notable battles include Marston Moor, Naseby, Bosworth Field, Flodden Field, Culloden, the Boyne, Hastings, Stamford Bridge and hundreds more.
