Wondrous poster-print map featuring the three worm legends of North East England, exploring their possible origins and the ballads and poems associated with them. The legends featured are the Laidley Worm of Bamburgh in Northumberland, the famous Lambton Worm of Wearside, best-remembered in a Newcastle music hall song and the Sockburn Worm of the Tees Valley with its links to Durham Cathedral and Lewis Carroll. ‘Worms’ in the form of wyverns and serpents were a significant part of Anglo-Saxon and Viking mythology and the mysterious worm legends of the North East have very ancient roots. Printed on luxury 250gsm silk paper. Currently only available as an A3 print.
